Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School put on a fantastic production of Les Miserables in December 16 and we were proud to supply and engineer their sound and lighting for the show.

Taking on the school’s version of Les Miserables last year was a huge challenge, especially as our school converts the dinner hall into a theatre each year. We had a large cast of very talented, musical young adults, so it was important that the technical side did not let them down. School Stage did a magnificent job; they were creative and accommodating during initial meetings, and were positive and energetic throughout. Both the sound engineer and the lighting director provided were experienced and knew the show well; they were only there for two rehearsals before the opening night, and had the many complicated musical cues for effects down pat before then. They worked tirelessly and were incredibly flexible in terms of the late hours we needed them to work. The lighting was the most creative and effective we’d ever had, really helping to tell the story, the cues were taken amazingly sharply and the sound was spot on. Ben and Richard were the best creative team we’ve ever had – and they had the hall empty and spotless a few hours after the final bows.
