At Mandeville School children come first. Their overall aim is to provide an educational environment which celebrates the uniqueness of every child. They are flexible and responsive to the complex needs of each pupil and guide their learning to enable them to succeed.

As a School with Children with special needs, Mandeville required a unique space where the children could interact and learn. The hall was completely transformed with immersive lighting and projection to make the space completely different to anything done before.

The intuitive design reflects the needs of pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties and is particularly sensitive to pupils with autism and/or visual impairment. Many of our pupils have a high sensitivity to light and sound which can easily over stimulate them. Chris was able to factor this into the design. As a result Mandeville School has an integrated light and sound system that can create a calm or stimulating environment at the touch of a button. The iPad control makes it accessible and easy for staff to use and this also allows children to make choices that create an effect on the whole room.

The design has many possibilities for creative learning to take place. The journey circle allows for streamed images so that we can transport the children to a different place and time. This is complimented by being able to change the colour and tone of the walls, the impact of which can be felt from the moment the children walk in the door. Spotlights allow focus not just for a performance but also as part of the lesson to highlight a particular area of learning.

We are still discovering the many possibilities and fun that the light and sound system can bring.

Chris and the team have demonstrated true commitment to the needs of school and to achieving the best possible outcomes for the children. They work with enthusiasm and passion and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
